Hey guys 🙂
If anyone here has read the "My Story" on this page, you will know I struggle a lot with PTSD. And it has gotten a bit worse over the past couple weeks.
We have found out that social media is very much a trigger due to certain areas that I can't avoid, and is not helping. I will see about still posting on this page when things settle down for me. Maybe I can just direct bookmark to this page and avoid everything else. If anything, I still have the website you can follow if I can't do that, along with Trello.
Will see what happens. But I didn't want to disappear off here, still work on the project and release on the website and people here think I died or something 😛
Cheers 🙂 ...
With this *potential* conversion to RPG Maker MV, I been thinking about removing 2 things that I actually did regret putting into the project in the first place.
The quest log and the faction window.
Those 2 things didn't exist back in EQ Classic. If this conversion happens, I may remove those 2 from the project. I would still keep things like tracking how many quests you have completed. All that would change is no longer having access to those windows.
Thoughts? They will probably remain if I have problems with the conversion. ...
Hey guys! I am not dead, promises! 🙂
This screenshot does contain issues, but it shows what I am trying to see if is possible. I am upgrading the E2DQ engine from VX Ace to MV. This is what the game looks like in MV. It looks so much better. Not everything is perfect at the moment.
If I am successful in converting the project over, it will run so much better and have less limitations. I will keep you guys updated 🙂 ...
The website got updated to a newer version of Ubuntu, and while everything seems fine on my end, if anyone notices any weird issues, please let me know so I can make a report!
As for the game side of things, it has been rather slow. I have been very deep in C# and Unity learning, but I will be making more time for this project in the coming days 🙂 So nothing new to report, yet! ...
Unless things change, there may not be a release on Friday. I have noticed though that the only releases being downloaded are the ones I set public. No interest has come into the test releases yet. Since it does take time for me to convert the project, upload and post release notes, I may hold off on Friday releases for a bit. 🙂
I am happy to see that some public downloads hit the triple digits though 🙂 I really appreciate the support, and feels great that people are finding the project and checking it out! 0.4.2 was my most popular release (where I introduced the bag system).
While test releases are in question, I won't stop sending out updates on here 🙂 Didn't get a whole lot done this week, and will be drugged up tomorrow (Dentist!) so no work will be done then. I only got 1 NPC in along with a quest this week. So slow going. But I will make up for it!
Hope you all are having a great week! 🙂 ...
I will say right now, I have no idea how far this project will go. Very much depends on life as I am trying to get off of disability. Plus I am paying for courses on game development to make my own game. But I don't see this project going anywhere anytime soon as I fully enjoy working on it.
This is the current planned layout for E2DQ. The numbers are the planned release order for each zone. I kind of look at level ranges to determine the order. I want a very solid playthrough for Humans in Qeynos. As I do want to add in other races (Barbarians would probably be next), it is not 100% planned until I am sure how far I can take this.
Cities are what take up A LOT of time to do with around 100 NPCs per zone, a lot of dialogue, items, quests, etc... After Qeynos, I am hoping zones will come quicker.

A new skill is being implemented for this Friday's release!
Bandages are being overhauled and will no longer heal you for 25% of your health, but they will continue to work in combat.
Using Bandages will improve your Bind Wound skill. At first, bandages will only heal you for 3hp. But that number will increase by 3 for every 4 skill points you have in Bind Wound.
Every class will get this skill, and you will not have to train it. Simply using Bandages will start giving you skill points. Your skill will also be shown on the save/load screen above fishing.
With this addition also comes the nerf to passive health regeneration.
This is the first implementation of this skill, so expect tweaks to it as time goes on. ...
Why did it take me so long to add the sounds of doors opening and closing when you enter/exit buildings?....
On that note, as I am testing the sounds, I found out you have to hit space bar to leave Fharas Leather and Thread shop. That will be fixed for Fridays release..... scared me at first, I thought I was stuck in that store forever.... ...
